Well, here it is, the day before vacation. My mind's whirring so fast I can't make it slow down to work. Thankfully I spent all weekend and last night on the "work" projects so that I would hopefully have a relatively calm day today. We'll see.
Last night Kirk and I made it over to ScubaToys, to practice our (very rusty) SCUBA skills. We really haven't been diving since our trip to Yap. But we dug out our NAUI manual and have been studying a bit, so it wasn't bad. But it's amazing how much differently you use muscles, both preparing to dive and then underwater. I have a few minor aches this morning.
Anyway, tomorrow will start very early. I want to get up and walk Gigi one more time before our long day of travel and our (lovely, wonderful, generous and kind) neighbor is going to drive us to the airport @ 5:45 am, after her weekly, Wednesday weight workout! Did I mention she's a triathelete? So we need to be headed out on our walk by 3:15 am. Yikes! I haven't seen that hour of the morning (after sleeping) since Mom and I subbed that paper route 25 years ago.
Mom flies from OKC first around 6 am, and Kirk and I join her just over an hour after she lands in Houston. We have maybe 1.5 hours to chill before boarding the loooooooong (13.5 hours) flight to Tokyo, switch planes and then another 3.5 hour flight to Guam. When we land it will be ~8:30 pm, Thursday, September 18. Talk about time flying!
Thankfully we get to rest, relax, and hopefully sleep quite a bit during our 20 hour layover before embarking on the last leg of our trip - a 2 hour flight to Palau.
Wish us all luck and pleasant dreams. We'll let you know how it went!
